The Musical Poster
A theatrical poster inspired by Moulin Rouge! The Musical and the iconic windmill’s resilience after its historic fire. The design draws from linocut-style printmaking of the era, using bold shapes, rich texture, and a dramatic spotlight to reflect the windmill’s strength and rebirth. This poster won 1st place in a Tennessee Performing Arts Center x Nossi College of Art & Design competition through community voting on social media.

This poster interprets a lyric from Hobo Johnson’s “Creve Coeur 1”. The hourglass becomes a metaphor for the weight of time and emotional suffocation, while the cascading type mirrors the urgency and constriction of thoughts piling up.
